AhlulBayt News Agency: Iran's President Masoud Pezeshkian said that one of the objectives of US bases in the region is to create discord among Islamic countries, but Iran and its neighboring states have shown that these conspiracies do not disrupt their friendship.
In response to a phone call from Prime Minister of Pakistan Shehbaz Sharif, President Pezeshkian expressed his appreciation for Pakistan's firm positions in support of Iran and the condemnation of the Zionist regime and the US aggression against Iranian territory.
He stated on Tuesday that although the US claimed during indirect negotiations that the Zionist regime would not take any action against Iran without Washington’s permission, American authorities supported this aggression from the very beginning, and when they saw that the Zionists were unable to achieve their goals, they directly participated in the military aggression against the Islamic Republic; therefore, Iran was forced to respond to the largest US air base located in Qatar.
Pezeshkian expressed hope that problems could be resolved through diplomacy, noting that he is confident that the unity and cohesion of the regional countries can lay the foundation for security, peace, and development for all countries in the region. He also said that he hopes all leaders of Islamic nations will join Iran and Pakistan on this path to build a worthy future for the people of their states.
In response, the prime minister reiterated his condemnation of the Zionist regime and US aggression against Iran, stating that he hopes the ceasefire achieved will be sustainable, and that issues can be resolved through dialogue and diplomacy, and the rights of the Iranian people can be upheld.
Sharif commended the courage and resilience of the Iranian people and government, emphasizing that Pakistan will always stand by its brothers in Iran and will spare no effort to facilitate the path of diplomacy and deescalate tensions, and will support the Islamic Republic in international forums in the strongest possible manner.
